Perugia is full of interesting faces to add to my collection.
This is Pinturicchio, the little painter. His real name was Bernadino di Betto and he came from Perugia. His bust sits in the little park at the top of the hill where old Perugia rests.
He has some friends in the park.
Vittorio Emanuele II peers out from a building in Piazza D’Italia.
The original bronze sculptures from the front of the Palazzo dei Priori are kept inside the building for safe keeping. They date from 1274 and were most likely cast in Venice.
…and here are some random faces spotted around the streets of Perugia.
Lovely post. Pinturicchio means “little painter” as you say but that only refers to his stature – he was very short in height but very great with his paintbrush!

Great to see a bust of Pinturrichio In Perugia. This will certainly be on my next visit list. Pinturrichio was among a tiny group of deaf painters who became prominent during the Renaissance period. If you look closely at his artworks, you will see his emphasis on expressive faces and hands.
