Sensational San Sebastian

San Sebastián is a Spanish coastal city on the Bay of Biscay, just 20 kilometres from the French border. It is in the Basque area and known to the locals as Donostia.

There is a fabulous beach right on the edge of the city. It is a circular natural harbour lined with clean sand and filled with sparkling blue water.

On the days we were there it was warm and sunny and people were enjoying the sand and the sea.

A boardwalk follows the line of the beach and is a great place for people to gather. There is music and entertainment, a huge playground for children, places to eat…a wonderful place to be.

There is a neat boat harbour to one side.

The yacht club looks like a boat.

San Sebastián has stunning buildings and wide boulevards, many pedestrian only…a people friendly city.

The shopping in San Sebastián is excellent. Well known labels are well represented and even better, there are lots of small boutiques with well chosen and displayed collections. This one was a favourite.

Pretty in pink…San Sebastián lights up in the evening.
